Jim Palana was born in Newport, RI. In 1965 he began performing his own songs in coffeehouses and folk clubs in the Providence-Fall River-New Bedford-Newport area. Few performers in those days had original material, and Jim earned his first attention for the often-humorous songs he was writing. In the following nearly 60 years he has released 5 recordings, performed around the United States, and also played in Europe, the UK and Ireland. Dawna Hammers is a multi-talented, entertaining and inspiring songwriter.
