The Old Sloop Presents concert series will open its 14th season with a performance by Cape Ann favorite Chelsea Berry. Coloradan Megan Burtt will open the concert. The performance will be at 7:30pm on September 9 in the handicap-accessible sanctuary of the First Congregational Church of Rockport, 12 School St.
Chelsea Berry is a powerhouse vocalist and performer based out of New England. Dubbed “the Pink of folk music” by acclaimed singer songwriter Susan Werner, Chelsea’s shows are driven by her dynamic stage presence, heartfelt lyrics and stories, and masterful writing. She has released 10 original albums over her 25-year career and has collaborated on projects with dozens of other writers and performers. Her music is played regularly on Sirius XM’s The Loft and has been featured on local radio and TV stations from Modesto to Manhattan.
Megan Burtt has performed at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheater, featured with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, and toured Europe and across the US. Megan has won some of the nation’s most prestigious songwriting contests, including Rocky Mountain Folks Fest, Kerrville, and NW Region Mountain New Song. She is a member of the red-headed Americana band Gingerbomb.
