This star-studded Quartet is led by Jim Porcella on vocals. Jim has recorded seven critically acclaimed CDs, performed in jazz and cabaret settings in the Northeast, London, San Francisco, The Virgin Islands and Vancouver. He was also the featured vocalist at Boston’s Ritz Carlton and the prestigious Bay Tower Room. He has been the featured vocalist with the Artie Shaw Orchestra, and is the leader of the swing band “Bombay Jim and the Swinging Sapphires.”
Arnie Krakowsky is one of the most sought-after jazz sax players in New England. He has recorded and produced multiple CDs, and has shared the bandstand with Ray Charles, Tony Bennett, the Glen Miller Orchestra, Lionel Hampton, Dick Johnson and Dave McKenna.
Drummer Gary Johnson has been keeping time for 37 years with, among others Scott Hamilton, Dave McKenna, Ken Peplowski, Keely Smith, and the Nelson Riddle Orchestra. For four years, he traveled extensively with the Artie Shaw Orchestra under the direction of Dick Johnson. While touring, he accompanied artists such as Buddy DiFranco, Dizzy Gillespie, Rosemary Clooney, and Frankie Laine. Helen Forest, Connie Haines and Ruby Braff.
Jack Coleman, a graduate from the Berklee College of Music, toured the country with the show band “The Continentals,” including performances at Caesars Palace and The four Seasons in Las Vegas. Jack has also played with Rebecca Paris, The Jim Porcella Trio, and the New Orleans band Gumbo.
