SUMMARY:Ellis Paul
DESCRIPTION:Ellis Paul is a key figure in what has become known as the Boston school of songwriting\, a literate\, provocative\, and urbanely romantic folk-pop style that helped ignite the folk revival of the 1990s. His pop music songs have appeared in movies and on television\, bridging the gap between the modern folk sound and the populist traditions of Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger. \n  \n

SUMMARY:Adam Ezra
DESCRIPTION:Peterborough Folk Music is honored to present Adam Ezra in support of a wothwhile and wonderful non-profit organization he founded\, RallySound. The mission is to help veterans get off the streets and into safe and dignified housing!. Your tickets will benefit this mission.  Read below and follow links. See you Dec. 12th. Reminder – Don’t hesitate to purchase tickets. Bass Hall often sells out in advance. \n  \nWelcome To Adam Ezra Group \n– He takes a month out of each year to visit the living rooms of his fans around the\ncountry?\n– His band and nonprofit organization RallySound host a free festival every summer that raised $161\,000 for homeless veterans in 2025?\n– He live-streamed for 500 nights in a row during the pandemic?\n– They co-produced an album with 163 fans? \nIf you haven’t connected with Adam Ezra Group yet\, these are just a few examples to help you understand how this underground\, Americana songwriter and his bandmates seem to have popped out of nowhere\, establishing a connection with their fans unlike any other\, and are suddenly selling out theaters throughout the Northeast. \nAdam Ezra will joke with you that while the “nowhere” part might be accurate\, nothing has ever just “popped” for this folk musician\, activist. Without resources\, connections\, or any kind of clue how the music world works\, Ezra began playing shows over 20 years ago. When music venues wouldn’t hire him\, he played bars\, bookstores\, fields\, and parking lots\, often raising money for causes he cared about; a practice that grew into his nonprofit organization RallySound. \n“We’d play 5 hours a night\,” Adam reminisces\, “more often than not\, in danger of outnumbering the audiences we were playing for?” \nSo how did this band operating so far outside the traditional music world come to win New England Music Award’s “Americana Act of the Year” in 2023? What could have happened to inspire John Oates to call Adam and invite him to begin a songwriting friendship that would lead to John producing their co-write\, “Hold Each Other Now”? What happened to catch the attention of The Wallflowers\, who recently invited AEG to join them on their spring tour\, or SPIN Magazine who recently proclaimed\, “This Independent Underground Folk Band Is Blowing Up Without Selling Out“? \nIf you ask Adam\, he’ll tell you: \n“One person at a time\, over many years and thousands of shows\, decided to turn their heads to listen. One person at a time decided to share our music with folks they care about. That’s always been our story. It’s no fairytale\, but it sure makes me proud and humbled when I look out from the stage to watch theaters full of people singing along to our music.” \nThese days you’ll find Adam and his bandmates\, Corinna Smith (Fiddle)\, Poche Ponce (Bass)\, and Alex Martin (Percussion)\, constantly out on the road. If you look at their tour schedule now\, you can buy tickets to see them at festivals\, rock venues\, and theaters around the country\, but you will also see their tour continuously peppered with activism and grassroots events; a testament to an artist who will never forget where he came from\, and whose mission is about much more than music.

SUMMARY:Catie Curtis
DESCRIPTION:About Catie \nFor over 25 years\, Catie toured full-time as a singer/songwriter in the US and Europe\, releasing 14 recordings and selling over 250\,000 CDs (not to mention streaming and downloads). She has recorded her acoustic folk-rock tunes for major (EMI Guardian) and independent (Rykodisc\, Vanguard and Compass) labels\, collaborating with some of the finest musicians and producers in the country. Her songs have been featured in several films and multiple tv shows\, and she performed several times at the White House during the Obama administration. Her audience knows she’s not afraid to speak up about political issues and to stand up for the LGBTQ community. She’s intensely grateful for those years on the road\, and honored to know that her music has been an integral part of so many people’s lives. \nIn 2017\, Catie explored a desire to work locally rather than spending so much time on the road. She got a master’s degree in counseling and is now a psychotherapist in Newburyport\, MA. She seeks a balance between her work as a therapist and an artist. “I still need and want to create music. Writing is still how I make sense of my life and the world around me. I still love getting out to play shows and connect with people.” Fortunately\, it’s important to her fans\, too.

SUMMARY:Open Mic Night at The Music Mansion
DESCRIPTION:Over the last couple years we have tried a lot of things on our open mic stage. In Season 42\, we held workshops for developing musicians. in Season 43\, we invited hosts of other open mics around the state to feature on our stage. We trained new sound engineers only to forgo all the tech. It’s now musicians and audiences in a room together – a room designed for music to flow and flourish. \nEd Dean returns as our open mic host\, opening the doors to The Music Mansion. It’s a welcoming environment for beginners\, new artists\, and veteran local musicians. The Open Mic Series is one of the ways we practice what we preach and Ed is an  incredible minister for this community. Hope to see you there.

SUMMARY:Kim Moberg and Jenna Nicholls
DESCRIPTION:“Kim Moberg has created a project that features not only her lovely voice but a songwriting style that can easily transition from the gentle Americana-tinged ballads to thoughtful protest songs. Above Ground is well worth a listen!” \n-Joe Pszonek Radio Nowhere | Joltin Joe Pszonek Finnegan’s Wake \nIn a tapestry of sound\, Jenna Nicholls weaves a spell: strumming her ukulele with the spirit of New Orleans or crooning a cowboy’s tale with the soul of the West. Her melodies\, like vintage vinyl spun anew\, carry the weight of memory and promise of tomorrow. With three albums under her belt\, her songs have found their way into the heart of cinema and the pulse of television. On the road she’s shared stages with legends like Ingrid Michaelson\, and Oscar winner Glen Hansard. From the storied stages of Carnegie Hall and the Beacon Theatre\, Jenna’s music echoes through the night\, a testament to the enduring power of song.

SUMMARY:The Hosmer Mountain Boys
DESCRIPTION:The Hosmer Mountain Boys are a retro bluegrass band that is quickly rising in the New England Bluegrass scene and having a lot of fun in the process. They were voted the “Fan Favorite” at the 2023 Podunk Bluegrass Festival\, performed in Lexington (KY) on WoodSongs Old-Time Radio Hour\, and crossed the pond for the 2024 Battlefield Bluegrass Festival in England.  Keegan (guitar) and Simon (banjo) met at Mando Camp North in 2018 at age 16 and instantly connected over their passion for Flatt & Scruggs. Red Day\, (mandolin) has recently been added to the band this season. Cathy Bumgarner Day (fiddle) and Tom Bowman (bass) complete the lineup with decades of regional bluegrass experience. Simon (banjo) has been described by some attendees at the Thomas Point Beach Bluegrass Festival in Brunswick\, ME\, as Connecticut’s best‑kept secret. You’ll hear that Keegan’s major guitar‑picking influences include Riley Pucket\, Don Reno\, and the thumb‑picking style of Lester Flatt. Rounding out the band is Cathy Bumgarner Day on fiddle and Tom Bowman on bass\, both staples in the New England Bluegrass Music scene for decades.
