SUMMARY:The North Reading Community Coffeehouse Performing Artist Series Presents Don White
DESCRIPTION:The North Reading Community Coffeehouse is proud to present Don White.  Don is equal parts storyteller-comedian-author-troubadour-folk singer-songwriter\, and has been bringing audiences to laughter and tears for 30 years. White’s arc as an award-winning songwriter and performer has taken him from his industrial hometown of Lynn\, MA across the country as hitchhiker\, through Boston’s comedy clubs and coffeehouses\, and onto the stage with greats like Arlo Guthrie\, Taj Mahal\, Ritchie Havens\, Patty Larkin\, Bill Morrissey\, Tom Rush\, Louden Wainwright III\, and Christine Lavin\, with whom he toured for 8 years all across North America in a co-bill called The Funny Side of the Street. At every point\, White has been the ultimate observer\, infusing his work with his experiences as a husband\, a father\, a seeker\, and a joker. In 2011\, he won the Jerry Christen Memorial Award\, given out by Boston Area Coffeehouse Association\, for his work with the community. There is a $20 suggested donation.  Doors open at 6:30.  Please come and join us for a great evening of music and storytelling.  We are located in the Activity Room of the Flint Memorial Library at 147 Park Street in North Reading\, MA.  There is plenty of free parking.  If you would like to reserve a seat\, please contact Art Grossman at NRCoffeehouse@gmail.com.

SUMMARY:Rhode Island Songwriters Association Showcase at Stone Soup Coffeehouse
DESCRIPTION:RISA encourages\, fosters and conducts the art and craft of original lyrical and musical composition; provides educational programs\, critique sessions and performance opportunities for all artistic styles; and supports open collaboration within the RISA community. The organization was founded in 1993 by a small group of individuals dedicated to the art of songwriting. As interest in the group grew\, so did the RISA membership. With growth came visibility and a broader mission – to establish a songwriting community that would not only nurture Rhode Island and Southeastern New England songwriters\, but showcase their many talents as writers\, musicians and performers. This evening’s performers will include Mike Laureanno\, Katherine Quinn\, Maddie Cardoza\, Dean Petrella\, Scott Lewis\, and Tammy Laforest.

SUMMARY:Erin Sullivan / Eric & Ash (a split bill)
DESCRIPTION:NOTE: NEW earlier showtime: 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 7.\nAsh & Eric\, a married duo from Worcester\, are known for their genuine storytelling through music. Their songs navigate the intricacies of love\, capturing both its triumphs and tribulations. Their album\, “Sure\,” touches on love’s dynamics\, offering both solace and reflection. Having been a team since 2012\, their knack for transforming life’s challenges into lyrical narratives stands out. Their beautiful harmonies\, acoustic guitar work\, and warm stage presence have led them to perform alongside folk stalwarts like Livingston Taylor and Mark Erelli. Their latest album\, “Sure\,” was entirely produced by Eric\, and they’re set to release a related film in 2023. \nErin Ash Sullivan\, also rooted in Massachusetts\, presents a nuanced take on folk music. Rose Garden attendees will remember her as the winner of our 2023 Performing Songwriter Competition. Originally one-half of the folk pair\, Edith O.\, with Amy Speace\, Erin took time away for personal commitments before making a resonant return. Her 2021 solo debut\, “We Can Hear Each Other\,” found success\, particularly her track “Fireflies.” Gaining attention within the folk community\, her accolades include the Mark Erelli Judge’s Choice Award. Erin’s artistry\, often described as both delicate and evocative\, evokes comparisons to established artists\, notably Dar Williams.
