Please join us for an evening with renowned cabaret singer Will McMillan and jazz pianist Joe Reid, who will be paying tribute to Judy Garland, one of the most beloved entertainers of the 20th century. Will and Joe will perform favorites including “Over the Rainbow,” “We’re a Couple of Swells,” “On the Atchison, Topeka and the Santa Fe,” “The Man That Got Away,” “The Trolley Song,” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” along with selections from Garland’s legendary Carnegie hall concerts, and will share stories about the ups and downs of her extraordinary life and 45-year career, which embraced vaudeville, movies, radio, TV, and concert performances.
Will has sung at venues such as Scullers Jazz Club, Sanders Theatre, the JFK Library, the Inn on Newfound Lake (NH), the Hi-Hat Club (RI), the Westbeth Performance Center (NYC), Spring Island (SC), and Yin Par Le Garcon Chinois (Shanghai). For years he hosted “Will & Company,” a series at the Blacksmith House in Harvard Square highlighting local performers and songwriters, which earned him an IRNE Award for Best Cabaret Show in a Small Venue. Will has released four CDs: “Sketchbook 1” and “Blame Those Gershwins” with pianist Steve Sweeting, “Reel One” with the vocal ensemble At The Movies, and “If I Loved You,” with singer Bobbi Carrey and pianist Doug Hammer.
